Sachem Village, Lebanon, New Hampshire
The Sachem Village Planned Recreational Development project provides
over two hundred units of housing for graduate Dartmouth College students
and their families to address current space and housing shortages in an
existing residential area.
Located off-campus from Hanover, New Hampshire, the development
provides sports fields, tennis and basketball courts, and a community
center, all abutting a major recreational fields area and the Campion Rink
Arena. Our personnel were sensitive to existing residential
elements, as well as Dartmouth College's goals, incorporating Agency Construction
Management (CM) methods to manage project costs, while all units were
modular, with roofs to be constructed on-site, to expedite the construction
timetable.
Technically challenging, the water lines were upgraded to meet adequate
security codes, our personnel designed a substantial water main to connect
the Sachem Village water system with the West Lebanon water system, upgrades
to adjacent roadways, stormwater management, and the development of a
land conservation plan.
Today the second phase of the Sachem Village project is underway, expanding
the residential community. A walkway from the State road leads from the
public parking area, along Gould Road following the recreation fields,
providing community access to the residential elements of the Village.
